Welcome to the TAG for Change Scholarship Program

We are grateful to all who have given to our TAG 4 Change Scholarship. As of August 2019, we have 27 students who have received scholarships.

WE HAVE MORE KIDS WAITING

The reason for the scholarships is that hard working families do not always have enough money to send all their children to school. Some get to go…some don’t!

The ones left standing at the door with a baby on their hip (they could be 5 yrs. old caring for an infant) or out in the hot, dusty field all day hoeing or sitting by the roadside selling the family crops ( at 4, 5, 10, 15 years old) , feel there is something wrong with them. They believe they do not matter as much as the other children in the family.

If their dream mattered, they would get to go to school. Some run away from home and onto the streets where can be subject to Human Trafficking.

Pastor Buni Alex Reports

Pastor Buni Alex is our Africa TAG 4 Change Liaison. He manages our TAG 4 Change Scholarship Program and all the training of students and adults.

Pastor Buni reports: Though the government has provided free education for Primary and Secondary, but it is not necessarily free. There are costs for uniforms, exams, some supplies.

GIRLS:

Most girls don’t study to the level of high School due to the struggles of their parents. There are a lot of requirements which parents could not afford so that makes many girls drop out of School in Primary level or from Secondary level and get married as the only solution.

Those who did not get the chance of finding a faithful man to marry, end up getting pregnant and living at home which creates more problems.

BOYS:

Almost all the boys have the same problem as girls, however at least 40% of boys are in Schools, but also the major problem is lack of jobs for those that graduate.

Nevertheless, if we can mentor both girls, boys, women and men there is a great hope.

After mentoring, we will create opportunities. Because they are hard-working kids, they will be of great help to our community.

MAKE THEIR DREAMS COME TRUE

Will you give a child a chance to have their dream come true? For $30 per month you can send a child who WANTS to go to school, desperately WANTS to go to school, to learn, play and get the skills to have their dream of being a doctor, teacher, plumber, mechanic, an engineer come true!

100% of your $30 p/month goes to support the TAG 4 Change Africa Program. Your contribution will provide your student’s uniforms, food, exams, and program management fees. The parents of our scholarship kids do contribute something to their schooling as well to keep them involved.

In addition to managing delivering services to all the scholarship children and their families and schools, our TAG 4 Change Africa Team teaches at each of the schools providing training to the teachers and students that BEING ME MATTERS.

Teachers are now committed to see the children through TAG Eyes™ as they focus on children’s’ Talents, Abilities and Gifts (TAGs) rather than caning the children as their culture had taught them. We are eliminating bullying around the world one child, one school at a time!

They get CLEAN WATER to drink too! All the schools where we have programs have received a water filter that provides 300 gallons of clean water every day for 10 years and a soccer ball for good clean fun! We have 21 new schools to bring Water Filters and soccer balls to in November when I return to train in Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, and Rwanda.
